Grilled Shrimp And Avocado Salad

This recipe of grilled Shrimp and Avocado Salad is a beautiful fusion of Asian and Mexican flavors plated in French style. A simple, elegant and fresh appetizer which is sure to impress your guests.


Wine vinegar 1 Teaspoon
Olive oil 1 Tablespoon
Chopped parsley 1 Teaspoon
Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm)
Ginger 1 Teaspoon
Freshly ground black pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Sugar 1 Teaspoon
Dry mustard 1 Teaspoon
Fresh thyme 1 Teaspoon
Shrimp 4 Large
Ripe avocado 2
Cilantro leaves 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Lemon juice 1 Tablespoon
Jalapeno 1⁄2
Salt 1 Teaspoon
Garlic clove 1 Large
Onion 1⁄2 Small


Mixed all the marinade ingredients in a bowl and marinate the shrimp in this for 30 minutes. Saute the shrimp on medium heat and basting them with the marinade until cooked. Reserve the marinade.

For the Avocado salad, peel the avocados and remove the pits.

Add the cilantro, garlic, jalapeno, onion, lemon juice and salt in a blender and grind for 5 seconds, empty to a bowl and mash the avocado along with the rest on the ingredients.

To plate, spoon the avocado salad, then arrange 2 prawns on top, drizzle the marinade over the prawns and avocado.
