Love broccoli salad? Try this easy recipe for how to make fresh broccoli salad. This is a great change from cole slaw or even potato salad. You don't need to cook anything to make this fresh broccoli salad.
Its hard to beat homemade broccoli salad. This is filled with fresh crisp broccoli, and there is bacon, red onion, sharp Cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and almonds. This is the perfect side dish to bring to a pot luck.

Ingredients

Broccoli head 1 , chopped into small peices (1 crown)
Bacon 1/2 Pound , cooked crisp
Red onion 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Sliced almonds 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (1/2
Raisins 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (Optional)
Sharp cheddar cheese 8 Ounce
Mayonnaise 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Distilled white vinegar 2 Tablespoon
Sugar 2 Tablespoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Crushed black pepper 1/2 Teaspoon
Chopped tomatoes/Cherry or grape tomatoes 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)

Directions

GETTING READY

Wash broccoli and pat dry. Cut off the the broccoli flowers, leaving the stems aside. You can save the stems for use with a different recipe.

MAKING

Place broccoli in a medium sized bowl. Crumble crisp bacon and add to bowl. Add chopped red onions, raisins if desired, shredded cheese and stir.

In a small bowl combine mayonnaise, white vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir the dressing together and drizzle over broccoli.

Add tomatoes last and mix the tomatoes in gently. Cover salad and store overnight.

SERVING

You can serve immediately if you desire, better flavors result the longer you let the salad rest.
