Betty's Overnight Lettuce Salad

Betty demonstrates how to make Overnight Lettuce Salad. This is a great recipe for a barbecue, picnic, or pot luck dinner.

Ingredients

Iceberg lettuce head 3/4 , torn into bite
Celery stalk 3 , finely chopped
Red onion 1 , thinly sliced with slices halved (medium
Sour cream 8 Ounce
White sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Mayonnaise 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
White vinegar 2 1/2 Teaspoon
Finely shredded parmesan cheese 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Bacon 1/2 Pound , crisp and crumbled (about 8 slices)

Directions

MAKING

1. In the bottom of a 9-inch by 13-inch by 2-inch pan, spread the torn lettuce, followed by celery, and onion.

2. In a small bowl, combine sour cream and sugar. Mix well and spread evenly over top of salad in pan.

3. In a separate bowl, mix together mayonnaise and vinegar. Spread evenly over top and then sprinkle Parmesan cheese.

4. Sprinkle crumbled crisp bacon evenly over all. Cover with plastic wrap and chill at least 3 hours, or preferably overnight.

SERVING

5. Serve and enjoy!
