Old Fashioned Bread Pudding

Dark brown sugar 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Whole wheat bread slices 3
Butter 2 Tablespoon
Raisins 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Eggs 3
Evaporated milk 1 1/4 Cup (20 tbs)
Salt 1/4 Teaspoon
Vanilla 1 Teaspoon



1. Butter the bread and dice it into 1/2-inch cubes


2. Prepare a 1 qt. glass casserole by tipping in the brown sugar, bread, and raisins.

3. In another bowl, tip in the eggs, milk, salt and vanilla and mix well

4. Tip this egg mixture over the bread mixture and blend well. Microwave this mixture on (high), covered for 8-10 minutes. Make sure that you are rotating the dish 1/4 turn halfway through cooking to prevent burning or sticking. Brown sugar dissolves around the pudding to form sauce for the pudding.


5. Serve warm or cold with custard
