Jo Brand'S Bread and Butter Pudding

Whole egg 1 (plus 1 yolk)
Caster sugar 50 Gram
Milk 450 Milliliter
Vanilla essence 1 Drop
Bread slices 4 , buttered
Sultanas raisins 50 Gram , mixed
Candied peel 15 Gram



1) Preheat oven to temperature of 350 degrees.


2) With a tablespoon of sugar, beat the egg.

3) Bring the milk to boiling point and then pour it on the egg mixture. Keep mixing constantly.

4) Add the vanilla essence and whisk well. Set aside and allow to cool.

5) Grease an ovenproof dish and use a third of the bread slices to line it.

6) Sprinkle with the dried fruit and add another layer of bread.

7) Add one more layer of the fruit and finish with a layer of bread.

8) Pour over the custard and allow it to soak for a while.

9) Sprinkle the remaining sugar all over and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes.


10) Transfer the preparation to a decorative serving platter and serve as a dessert while it is slightly warm, at room temperature or chilled.
