Chopped apple 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Hard beef suet 1 Cup (16 tbs) , finely chopped
All purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
White sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Bread crumbs 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Dark raisins 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Carnation milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Soda 1/4 Teaspoon

Put all 7 cups of ingredients into a mixing bowl and let stand overnight.

Then add baking soda and mix well together.

Pour into a well-greased pudding mold and steam for 3 hours.

Serve hot with lemon sauce or a thin custard sauce.

This mixture will appear very white, but will come out a rich dark texture when steamed properly.

It can be prepared and kept for weeks re-steam for 1 hour when needed.
