Homemade Banana Pudding is better than a box! Learn how to make this simple homemade vanilla pudding with bananas and vanilla wafers.
Sugar | 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs) | |
Cornstarch | 2 Tablespoon | |
Milk | 2 Cup (32 tbs) (I've used both whole and 2% with good results) | |
Egg yolks | 2 | |
Butter | 2 Teaspoon , softened or cut into small bits | |
Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
Ripe banana | 1 Large , peeled and sliced | |
Vanilla wafer cookies | 30 |
MAKING:
1.In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, cold milk and whisk until sugar dissolves.
2.Add egg yolk and whisk well.
3.Add butter and turn on heat.
4.Stir constantly until mixture begins to bubble or for 5 minutes.
5.Reduce heat and simmer for another 2 minutes until thickened.
6.Turn off heat, add vanilla and set aside.
7.Layer cookies and banana slices in the bottom of dish and top with half of pudding, more banana slices and remaining pudding.
8.Top with cookies, cover and chill for 4-8 hours.
SERVING:
