It's almost like a brownie in a pie shell!
This fantastic pie has chocolate, pecans coconut... perfect for your next casual dinner party or BBQ!

Sugar | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) (50 ml) | |
All purpose flour | 2 Tablespoon (30 ml) | |
Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Fancy molasses | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (250 ml) | |
Sweet dark chocolate | 4 Ounce (115 g) | |
Butter | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) (50 ml) | |
Pure vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |

Deep dish pie crusts | 1 , unbaked (9 1/2 | |
Flaked sweetened coconut | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) (175 ml) | |
Chopped pecans | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) (175 ml) |
GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a dry fry pan, carefully toast the flaked coconut over medium- low heat and set aside.
MAKING
3. In a bowl, combine chocolate and butter. Place over double boiler and stir until smooth. Set aside to cool.
4. In a large bowl, combine egg, sugar, flour, and salt. Beat until creamy, then blend in molasses. Slowly whisk in melted chocolate, and vanilla.
5. Into unbaked deep dish pie crust, pour the filling. Sprinkle coconut and pecans on top.
6. Pop in oven and bake for about 45 minutes or until set. Centre of pie should spring back when lightly tapped. Cool on rack before serving.
SERVING
7. Cut into wedges, serve and enjoy!
