They say there is nothing more American than an Apple Pie, I beg to differ, this Apple and Cherry pie is about as American as you can get. Made using fresh Stemilt cherries and granny smith apples, Stemilt is a family owned companythat has been growing cherries and apples in Washington state since the early1900's, it is full of sweet cherries and tart apples.picture-perfect and delicious.

White sugar | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Brown sugar | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Cinnamon powder | 1 Teaspoon (or more to taste) | |
Lemon juice | 1/2 | |
Egg | 1 | |
Bourbon | 3 Tablespoon (Optional) |
1. After blind baking your pie-crust, preheat your oven to 375F.
2. While your oven heats, add the pitted cherries to a large mixing bowl with thinly sliced apples, adding the remaining baking ingredients before using your hands to gently fold the ingredients together.
3. Once fully blended, pour the blend into your pie crust and top with a pastry crust, taking care to pinch the crust to the bottom crust to create a solid seal around the pie.
4. Gently brush an egg across the top of the crust and dust with sugar before piercing a whole at the top of the pie and baking at 375F for 25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
