A cross between a buttermilk pie, and a chess pie.. It's all south and full of flavor!

Butter | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , melt | |
Buttermilk | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |

Lemon zest | 1 Tablespoon (zest of 1 lemon) | |
Lemon juice | 1 Tablespoon (juice of 1/2 lemon) | |

GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
MAKING
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, cornmeal, flour and salt. Whisk well.
3. Add butter, buttermilk, and vanilla. Mix well.
4. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
5. Pour eggs into the flour sugar mixture.
6. Stir in lemon zest and juice. Pour mixture into the pie shell.
7. Pop the pie shell in oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and set.
SERVING
8. Cut into wedges and serve pie hot.
