Betty's Romantic Dark Chocolate Pie

Sugar 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Cornstarch 3 Tablespoon
Salt 1 Pinch
Milk 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Yolks 3
Unsweetened chocolate 2 Ounce (2
Butter 1 Tablespoon
Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
Pie crust 1 , baked (9
For garnish
Strawberry 4 , washed, patted dry
Confectioners sugar 1 Teaspoon



1. Slice strawberries as shown in the video. Sprinkle confectioners’ sugar on it and set aside.


2. In a heavy bottomed saucepan, add sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Mix well and set aside.

3. In a large mixing bowl, add milk and egg yolks. With an electric mixer beat for about 1 minute, or until frothy.

4. Gradually pour egg mixture into the saucepan with sugar. Mix to combine.

5. Place saucepan over low heat, stir constantly and bring it to a boil. Turn the heat to medium and cook for about 10 minutes or until the mixture is thickened and bubbly.

6. Remove saucepan from heat and drop unsweetened chocolate, butter, and vanilla in it. Stir until chocolate melts. Cover with plastic wrap, right to the surface of chocolate mixture. Set the pan aside until the mixture comes slightly above room temperature.

7. Place the chocolate mixture in refrigerator and chill until firm.

8. Into the baked and cooled 9-inch pie crust, transfer the chocolate filling. Cover with plastic wrap and chill until ready to serve.


9. Cut a wedge-shaped piece of pie and serve it with strawberry slices and a dollop of sweetened cream on top.
