Herb Seasoned Shepherds Pie

Cooked meat 12 Ounce
Dripping/Lard 1 Ounce
Onion 1 Large , sliced
Tomatoes 3 , chopped
Gravy/Stock 1/2 Pint
Salt To Taste
Pepper To Taste
Mixed herbs 1 Pinch
Cooked potatoes 1 1/2 Pound
Margarine 1 Ounce



1) Preheat the oven to 400F.

2) Chop the cooked meat very fine or pass it through a mincer.


3) In a pan, melt the dripping or lard. Toss in the onions and tomatoes. Saute till they become tender.

4) Next, add in the minced meat, gravy or stock, salt, pepper and mixed herbs. The amount of stock you add depends on personal taste. Mix well.

5) Transfer the mixture into a pie plate.

6) Peel and mash the cooked potatoes to get a smooth texture. Add into the pie plate piled over the meat mixture.

7) Using a fork, spread the mashed potatoes forming amice design.

8) Drop bits of margarine all over the pie.

9) Bake the pie in the central rack of the oven for 30 minutes. The pie is done when the top turns brown and crispy.


10) Serve the Shepherd's Pie with baked green beans on the side.
