This pink grapefruit pie is as delicious and easy as it is pretty! Perfect use for seasonal pink grapefruit. February is National Grapefruit Month so let's celebrate every grandpa's favorite fruit!
Deep dish pie crust | 1 ((unbaked)) | |
Eggs | 2 | |
Grapefruit zest | 2 Teaspoon | |
Lemon zest | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Sugar | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
Milk | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Red grapefruit juice | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) ((from 1 fruit)) | |
Butter stick | 1 , melted ((8 tablespoons; pound)) | |
Flour | 3 Tablespoon | |
Grape fruit | 1 , cut into segments ((supremes)) |
GETTING READY:
1.Preheat oven to 400F.
MAKING:
2.Prick the bottom of crust using fork.
3.Brush eggs over curst and pop into oven. Bake for 5 minutes.
4.Add zest, sugar to eggs and mix well.
5.Add milk, juice, butter and mix well.
6.Sprinkle flour and whisk well.
7.Pour over hot crust and bake for 40 minutes.
8.Allow to cool completely and garnish with grapefruit segments.
