Vanilla ice cream | 1 Pint | |
Orange sherbet | 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) | |
Orange soda | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Heavy cream | 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) | |
Orange extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
Powdered sugar | 1 Tablespoon | |
Zest of orange | 1 | |
For graham cracker pie shell | ||
Graham cracker crumbs | 1 1/4 Cup (20 tbs) | |
Sugar | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Melted butter | 6 1/2 Tablespoon |
Making
For graham cracker pie shell
Combine all the ingredients and press into a 9-inch pie dish.
Bake at 375 (F) for 7 minutes
Finalizing
In a blender, combine ice cream, sherbet and orange soda. Blend until smooth, stopping the blender and stirring the mixture as needed to ensure it blends evenly.
Pour the mixture into the pie shell, and transfer to the freezer. Freeze for several hours, or until firm.
Serving
When ready to serve, combine cream, extract and powdered sugar in a large bowl.
Use an electric mixer to whip on high until the cream holds firm peaks.
Fold in the orange zest, then mound the whipped cream over the ice cream pie.
Let stand at room temperature for 5 minutes, or until thawed just enough to easily slice.
