How to make an Apple Pie on the Grill

On this video I show you how I make an apple pie on the grill. This recipe is easy to make and delicious. You can substitute making the pie dough for a store bought dough. But you should play with with different ingredients for the pie filling. Enjoy!

Ingredients

For the pie dough
Flour 2 1/2 Cup (40 tbs)
Sugar 1 Tablespoon
Salt 1/4 Teaspoon
Shortening 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs) (Cold)
Unsalted butter 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (Cold)
Water 5 Tablespoon (5
For the filling
Fuji apples 4 , peeled and quatered
Ground cinnamon 3/4 Teaspoon
Ground nutmeg To Taste , freshly ground
Salt 1 Teaspoon
Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
Lemon zest 2 Teaspoon (zest with a little juice)
Dark rum 1 Tablespoon
Sugar 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Frozen raspberries 1 Cup (16 tbs)

Directions

MAKING

Mix the dough ingredients throughly with adequate water, split it into half and roll out  to about 1/8 thick. Place in the fridge for about 30 minutes.

Form the pie dough to a pie pan.

For the filling mix all the filling ingredients.

Add the filling. You can add the top pie dough to completely cover the pie or create a lattice crust.

Brush on 1 beaten egg mixed with a teaspoon of milk.

Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.

Bake on Grill Dome or in oven at 400 degrees for approx. 45 minutes.

Once done let it cool.
