This is by far the easiest pasta I have ever made and is also the one that tasted almost like restaurant quality. When you are in no mood for elaborate cooking for dinner yet want to whip up something that everyone would enjoy and appreciate, this is the dish you must try.

Whole wheat spaghetti 150 Gram
Garlic butter 1 Teaspoon
Onion 50 Gram , finely chopped (about 1 small)
Crushed garlic 5 Gram (about 6 cloves)
Scallion (white and green) 2 Medium , green finely chopped and bulbs reserved as whole
Ground pepper 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
For the sauce
Eggs 1 Medium
Fresh cream 85 Milliliter
Pizza cheese 12 Gram , grated, divided

Since I wanted to ensure the pasta and the pan were still hot when I mix in the sauce, I followed a different step by step process for this recipe.

1. Heat butter in the pan and add onions. When onions turn translucent, add the garlic, sauté for a minute followed by chopped scallions and bulbs (whole). Cook until onions and scallion bulbs turn slightly brown. Switch off.

2. Mix together ingredients for the sauce in a bowl. Use most of the cheese, but keep some aside for topping.

I ensured the next steps were done one after the other with no delay, to ensure the hot pasta and pan will help cook the eggs slightly when mixing. It is alright if you do not follow this process, I did it just for my peace of mind.

3. Boil enough water in a deep dish pan along with salt and a teaspoon of oil. Add pasta to this and cook until al dente (which will take about 8-9 minutes). Drain pasta immediately in a colander. I did not run the paste under cold water because I wanted it to hot.

4. In the hot pan (this does not require stove to be on), add the onion, scallion mix followed by the sauce and hot pasta. Toss nicely for the sauce and onion mix to spread evenly.

5. Divide pasta evenly into two serving bowls. Top with remaining cheese and fresh scallions, if any. Enjoy restaurant quality pasta carbonara!
