Healthier Creamy Pasta, Sausage and Tomato Skillet Meal

Ingredients

Water 4 Cup (64 tbs)
Multigrain farfalle 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Olive oil 1 Tablespoon
Lean turkey sausage 8 Ounce , bite size pieces
Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm) , minced
Onion 1 Cup (16 tbs) , diced
Dried red pepper flakes 1 Pinch
Tomato 1 Cup (16 tbs) , diced
Real light whipped cream 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Low fat italian cheese blend 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Fresh parsley 1 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
White pepper powder To Taste

Directions

GETTING READY

1. In a thick bottomed pan, bring about 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.

2. Add the farfalle or mini bow-tie pasta and cook for 7 minutes, adding just a drop of olive oil to ensure it does not stick. Drain and set aside.

MAKING

3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet, add some freshly minced garlic and fry.

4. Toss in the diced onion and cook until tender and translucent.

5. Next, add bite sized pieces of the ground turkey sausage to it and allow to brown.

6. Sprinkle red pepper flakes, add the diced tomatoes and pour in the light whipping cream. Stir to mix well.

7. Simmer for around 3 minutes or until the sauce thickens.

8. Add the cooked pasta into the sauce and stir well. Season with salt and pepper.

9. Sprinkle the Italian cheese blend and stir. Finally garnish with fresh parsley.

SERVING

10. In a serving plate, serve the pasta as a complete meal or with some sweet peas/steamed vegetables as a side dish.
