How to Make Red Velvet Pancakes

Who says you can't celebrate the 4th of July right when you get out of bed? Whip up these delicious pancakes that have a signature flavor of one of America's most loved desserts.

Ingredients

For pancake
All purpose flour 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Cocoa powder 2 Tablespoon
Sugar 2 Tablespoon
Baking powder 1 1/2 Teaspoon
Baking soda 1/2 Teaspoon
Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
Eggs 2 (at room temperature)
Buttermilk 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
White vinegar 2 Tablespoon
Melted butter 2 Ounce , slightly cooled
Red food coloring 3 Tablespoon (more for a deeper color)
Blueberries 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) (as needed for garnish)
For cream cheese frosting
Reduced fat cream cheese 8 Ounce (at room temperature)
Powdered sugar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Milk 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Heat up an electric pan to 350 degree F.

MAKING

2. In a bowl add in flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Mix well.

3. In a separate large bowl beat eggs with buttermilk, vanilla, vinegar and butter.

4. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet while beating on low speed to combine.

5. Pour red food color and mix until desired color is reached. Continue to beat until fully.

6. Ladle the mixture in hot pan to form a pancake. Cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side or until bubbles form on top. Flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Repeat the process until all the batter is used.

For Frosting:

7. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, powder sugar and vanilla extract. Beat well.

8. Loosen the frosting to desired thickness by slowly adding in milk.

FINALIZING

9. On a plate place few pancakes, drizzle cream cheese frosting over top and garnish with fresh blueberries.

SERVING

10. Serve and enjoy!
