Bananas Foster Buttermilk Pancakes

This recipe is a great idea for Sunday Brunch. Give these Bananas Foster Buttermilk Pancakes a try and I'm sure everyone is going to love them.


All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Granulated sugar 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Baking powder 2 1/4 Teaspoon
Baking soda 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Eggs 2
Buttermilk 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Melted unsalted butter 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Pure vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
Banana 4 , cut into 1 inch slices
Unsalted butter 4 Tablespoon
Packed light brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Ground cinnamon 1/4 Teaspoon
Dark rum 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)



1. Sift all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl. Set it aside.

2. Whisk buttermilk, egg, melted butter and vanilla in a bowl until well combined.

3. Pour wet ingredients in dry ingredients and whisk to mix well.

4. Heat griddle on medium heat. 

5. Spread some butter and pour laddle full of pancake batter on top. Cook until bubbles appear on top.

6. Flip and cook on both sides. Set aside.

7. Melt butter in a pan. Add brown sugar, stir and cook until caramel sauce is made.

8. Add sliced banana to the caramel sauce and stir to coat well.

9. Remove the pan from heat and pour rum over the bananas. Place the pan on medium heat such that the rum ignites. Let the flame die off so that all the alcohol is gone. Stir to coat bananas with the sauce.



10. Stack pancakes on top of each other. Pour banana foster sauce on top and serve.
