There is nothing quite as American as apple pie. So, not making the yummy pie on the 4th of July would almost be sacrilegious, wouldn't it? Especially because the apples are so plentiful and easily available even in summer. The traditional apple pie will always remain a favorite on this day.  So bring out your grannys cookbook or ask your old aunt about the family recipe. Alternatively, you can scroll down to get details about this delicious dessert, right from the old-fashioned pie to the new age ones with every conceivable variation of this delicious, melt-in-your-mouth pie, in between.

Classic Apple Pie
Get hold of large Granny apples or even red ones, if you so prefer, add some sugar and spice and all things nice. Just pop it in the oven and you have a hot, crumbly old-fashioned delight to celebrate your Independence Day with gusto.

Dutch Apple Pie
Why go Dutch on American Day? Well, the Dutch have contributed a lot to build America and New York was even called New Amsterdam long, long ago. However, the main reason for making this particular pie is its scrumptious taste coupled with the no bottom crust novelty. Plus it is exceedingly easy to make. Need any more reasons?

Canned Apple Pie
No worries if you dont have the time to shop for fresh apples. The canned ones will do as well. Simply follow the recipe and create a beautiful, gooey pie, that oozes onto your plate from the depths of an equally yummy pastry shell. Bon Appétit!

Wild Apple Pie
A wonderful way to eat this sour version of apple. Go wild on the 4th of July by creating a magical pie with wild apples and granulated sugar. Yes, it can beat the traditional apple pie hollow when it comes to flavor.

Sugar Less Apple Pie
In a mood to celebrate the 4th of July in a healthy way this year? Skip the sugar and cream and use apple juice to sweeten the pie and try to choose the ripe, red fruit which has a natural sweetness of its own.
