Ingredients

Unbleached flour 8 Cup (128 tbs)
Sugar 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Baking powder 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Salt 2 Teaspoon
Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
Cloves 1 Teaspoon
Powdered ginger 3 Tablespoon
Ground cinnamon 3 Tablespoon
Solid vegetable shortening 2 1/4 Cup (36 tbs)

Directions

MAKING

1) In a large bowl, add all dry ingredients.

2) Thoroughly blend all ingredients.

3) Use pastry blender, two knives or fingertips to cut in shortening into the mixture until it looks like cornmeal.

SERVING

4) Use to prepare gingerbread or store in an airtight container in a cool and humid-free place for up to 6 months.
