Refried Beans, famous Mexican dish made healthy by addition of tomatoes and capsicum.


Oil 1 Teaspoon
Finely chopped garlic 2 Teaspoon
Finely chopped onion 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Finely chopped tomato 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Finely chopped capsicum 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Soaked, boiled and coarsely mashed rajma 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (kidney beans)
Chili powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Roasted cumin powder 1 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste



1. In a broad non-stick pan, heat oil and saute garlic over medium flame for a few seconds.

2. Add onion and saute over medium flame for 1 minute.

3. Add tomato, cook for 1-2 minutes and then sprinkle 2 tablespoons of water. Stir occasionally and cook for 1-2 minutes.

4. Stir in capsicum, cook for 1 minute then add rajma, chili powder, cumin powder, salt and 2 tablespoon of water. Stir and cook for 1 minute.


5. Fill in sandwich or wrap and serve.
