Most of us have a family member with a recipe thats to die for. And some of us have
family members that shouldnt be allowed near the kitchen or out in public for that
matter. Fortunately, Adams Aunty Christal knows what shes doing and has social
skills.
Adam shared her recipe with Sean, since being a veggie, Adam has never tried his
Aunts meatloaf. Hes missing out!
Ground turkey | 2 Pound ((lean ground beef, pork, veal, chicken, or a combo))
Bread crumbs | 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Egg | 1 | |
Onion soup mix packet | 1 ((or use 1/2 tsp onion powder + 1/2 tsp garlic powder + 1/2 tsp paprika + 1/2 tsp sugar + kosher salt and pepper to taste))
Hot sauce | 2 Teaspoon | |
Ketchup | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Dijon mustard | 2 Tablespoon |
GETTING READY
1.Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.
2.In a small bowl, combine the ketchup and mustard and set aside. In a large bowl put the ground turkey, bread crumbs, egg, Onion Soup mix, hot sauce (if you dare) and using your hands (you can wear surgical gloves if you’re creeped out by handling raw meat, wimp) and combine everything. BUT DUDE, don’t over work your meat. Just mix it together enough to distribute the ingredients. Otherwise, it’ll be tough and chewy and people will glare at you.
3. On a foil-lined baking sheet, dump out the meat mixture and form it into a loaf. Then take your ketchup / mustard combo and spoon it over the top of the loaf. If a little drips down the side, no biggie.
MAKING
4. Put it into the oven for about an hour. When it comes out of the oven, carefully cover it with foil (allowing space above the top so you don’t schmear the glaze on top) and allow it to rest for about 10 minutes (it’ll stay hot, don’t worry, bro). Transfer it to a platter or large cutting board before serving.
SERVING
5. Slice, serve and enjoy.
TIPS
Leftovers? Put a slice in your toaster oven on top brown toast setting. Then flip it over and do the same. Put a little mayo on toasted bread, some ketchup, mustard and maybe a little more hot sauce, if you’re feeling spicy, then your meatloaf slice, and you’ve got a pretty awesome Dude’s Leftover Meatloaf Sandwich. You’re welcome.
