Betty's Grandson Carter's Monkey Loaf

In this video, Betty and her grandson, Carter, demonstrate how to make Monkey Loaf. This is a pull-apart bread that has biscuit dough shaken in cinnamon and sugar, placed in a loaf pan, drizzled with butter and brown sugar, and baked in the oven.

Ingredients

Buttermilk biscuits 1 Can (10 oz) (Grands, not flaky biscuits)
Granulated sugar 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
Brown sugar 2 Tablespoon
Butter stick 1/2
Cooking oil spray 1 Teaspoon (for greasing)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Spray a loaf pan with cooking oil spray.

2. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.

MAKING

3. Remove biscuits from can, separate and cut each into quarters.

4. Form each into a ball and set aside.

5. In a Ziplock bag, mix together sugar and cinnamon.

6. Drop the dough balls into the bag and toss until evenly coated.

7. Remove the balls from bag and spread them evenly in the loaf pan. Sprinkle remaining sugar mixture over the top, if desired.

8. In microwave melt butter and then brown sugar. Stir for about a minute or until very well combined.

9. Pour melted butter over the dough balls in pan.

10. Place pan in oven and bake for 25 minutes or until top is golden and puffy.

11. Remove and set aside to cool for 10 minutes.

SERVING

12. Serve and enjoy!
