|Lemon juice||1/4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Raisins||1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , scalded, drained and chopped|
|Chopped peeled tart apples||1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Chopped walnuts||1/4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Orange marmalade||2 Tablespoon|
|Granulated sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Powdered cloves||1/2 Teaspoon|
|Powdered ginger||1/2 Teaspoon|
|Melted butter/Margarine||1/4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Combine all ingredients except pastry.
Roll pastry to 1/8" thickness and cut in 4"-squares.
Place squares on a greased or oiled baking sheet.
Place 1 tablesp of the apple mixture on each square.
Dampen edges, with water, then fold each over from corner to corner to form a triangle.
Crimp edges together with a floured fork.
Prick top of each turnover in several places to allow steam to escape.
Brush with top milk, and bake in a hot-oven of 450°F for 20-25 min., or until brown.
