Classic lasagna at its very best! Cheesy, meaty and oh-so hearty, this recipe will please even the pickiest eaters!

Ground pork sausage | 1/2 Pound (Italian pork sausage) | |
Onion | 1 , diced | |
Garlic clove | 1 , minced | |
Canned stewed tomatoes | 14 1/2 Ounce (Italian seasoned) | |
Canned tomato paste | 12 Ounce | |
Italian seasoning | 2 Tablespoon | |
Shredded mozzarella cheese | 16 Ounce (divided) | |
For cheese mixture | ||
Ricotta cheese | 3 Cup (48 tbs) | |
Grated parmesan cheese | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Eggs | 2 , beaten | |
Dried parsley | 2 Tablespoon | |
Salt and pepper | To Taste |
GETTING READY
1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
2. In a baking dish, place the lasagne and pour very hot water over it, enough to cover the noodles and set aside until needed.
MAKING
3. In a skillet over medium heat, add beef, sausage and onion, stir and cook until browned.
4. Drain the meat mixture and return to the same skillet.
5. Add in the garlic, Italian seasoned stewed tomatoes along with the juice, tomato paste and Italian seasoning, stir and allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
6. In another bowl, combine all the ingredients for the cheese mixture and stir well to combine.
7. In a lightly greased deep 13"x9" baking dish, spread ½ cup of meat mixture.
8. Arrange 1/3 of cooked noodles in layer, followed by 1/3 of cheese mixture, then with 1/3 of meat mixture and finally with 1/3 of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
9. Repeat the layer ending with shredded mozzarella.
10. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 to 60 minutes until hot and bubbly.
FINALIZING
11. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
SERVING
12. Slice and serve as desired.
