Oriental Lamb Pot - English Grill and BBQ Recipe

Lamb couscous prepared with oriental flavours. Enjoy.


Leg of lamb 1 Kilogram
Carrots 1 Kilogram
Onion 1 Medium
Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm)
Ginger piece 1 Small
Oil 2 Teaspoon
Vegetable broth 800 Milliliter
Coarse salt 1 Teaspoon
Pepper 1 Teaspoon
Turmeric 1 Tablespoon
Dried apricots 100 Gram
Dried dates 100 Gram
Couscous 160 Gram
Lemon juice 2 Tablespoon
Fried onion 3 Tablespoon (Optional)
Fresh mint 1 Tablespoon



1. Preheat the dutch oven.



2. Heat oil in dutch oven, add lamb leg and saute that in.

3. Add some onions and garlic and let them cook. Drop in ginger, carrots and vegetable stock. Throw in apricots and dates.

4. Season with salt, pepper and turmeric powder.

5. Put the lid on the dutch oven, place the coals and let the lamb cook for about 40 to 50 minutes or until the lamb is almost done.

6. Add couscous and let the dish simmer for 20 more minutes.

7. Stir and let everything come together.



8. Spoon the lamb couscous in a serving dish, garnish with fried onions and fresh mint leaves.
