Betty demonstrates how to make Limonana (Israeli Mint Lemonade). This refreshing drink recipe was sent in by Alex Zaprudsky. It is a typical drink you can find all over the Middle East.
|Freshly squeezed lemon juice||1/2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Loosely packed mint||1/4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sugar||1/2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Ice cubes||3 Cup (48 tbs) (if using small ice cubes use slightly less because they pack tighter)|
|Arak||1 1/2 Ounce (or liquor of your choice), optional)|
Combine the lemon juice, mint, sugar and water in a blender. Blend at high speed until well mixed.
Add the ice and blend until the ice is thoroughly crushed.
Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
* If you wish to make spiked limonana, add a shot of Arak (or liquor of your choice) in step 1.
