Teriyaki Sauce

Soy sauce 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Packed brown sugar 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Garlic powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Onion powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Lemon juice 2 Tablespoon
Ground ginger/Whole ginger 10 to 12 pieces, about size of shelled peanut



1. In a jar combine all ingredients and shake to mix well and to dissolve sugar.

2. For a marinade, let it stand in sealed jar overnight.

3. Pour over, beef cubes, steak, pork chops or disjointed chicken and let marinate 2 hours or longer.

4. Broil, brushing meat with marinade 2 or 3 times while cooking.

5. For a sauce to be used in a side dish, simmer 10 minutes.


6. Use for dunking shrimp, meat balls, bite-size pieces of meat or chicken, broiled pineapple cubes or French fried sweet potatoes or serve over rice.

7. Refrigerate extra sauce in a tightly sealed jar for future use.
