Jalapeno peppers | 15 | |
Cream cheese | 16 Ounce | |
Cheddar cheese | 8 Ounce | |
Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Ground black pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Paprika | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
Chili powder | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
Garlic powder | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
Seasoned bread crumbs | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Canola oil | 1 Quart ((For deep frying)) |
GETTING READY
1. In a bowl, put together cream cheese and cheddar, and stir well to mix.
2. Wearing gloves cut the top off the peppers and slit them lengthwise.
3. Using a spoon scoop out the seeds, and discard.
4. Stuff about a spoonful of the cheese mixture, in each pepper halves.
5. In a bowl, put the flour and add in salt, pepper, paprika, chilli powder, and garlic powder, and mix well.
6. In a shallow dish place the milk.
7. Preheat the oil to 350F.
MAKING
7. Dip the each stuffed pepper half, in milk and roll in flour to coat and place on a wire rack and allow to dry.
8. Dip each flour-coated pepper in milk and roll in bread crumbs to coat, and place on wire rack and allow to dry.
10. Repeat the process to coat bread crumbs, and allow to dry.
11. Fry the coated peppers, in small batches, allow to fry for about 2 minutes or until golden brown in colour, and drain on a wire rack.
SERVING
11. Serve hot as desired.
