Smoked Meatball Sub Sandwich

This weekend I kicked up another awesome sandwich. I put together a meatball sub all on the Weber Kettle.

Ingredients

80/20 ground beef 1 Pound
Ground pork 1 Pound (or use a combination of pork or veal)
Onion 1 , chopped
Egg 2
Chopped parsely 1 1/2 Tablespoon
Parmesan cheese 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Salt 1 Pinch
Fresh ground black pepper To Taste
Seasoned croutons 2 Cup (32 tbs) , crumbled
Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Water 2 Tablespoon
Olive oil 2 Tablespoon
Marinara sauce 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Sub rolls 5 , slit
Mozzarella slices 15 (as needed)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Preheat grill to 275F. In a bowl, mix together milk and croutons.

MAKING

2. In a mixing bowl, add beef, pork, onion, egg, parsley, parmesan, salt and pepper, using hands mix well. Add in the crouton mixture, mix again.

3. Roll the mixture into balls and place in a pan. To the pan add water and olive oil, place over the heated grill and allow to cook for about 45 minutes.

4. In another pan place marinara sauce, arrange the meatballs in the sauce, place on the grill and grill for another 20 minutes.

5. Place the sub roll on the grill to toast. Fill with meatballs, top with cheese slices, place on the grill and allow the cheese to melt.

SERVING

6. Serve with your choice of beverage.
