Cheesy Pasta with Vegetables (Calcium Rich Recipe)

Use of whole-wheat pasta and lots of vegetables is the specialty of this fibre rich dish. The milk and the cheese in the sauce enriches it with the much-needed calcium for growing kids.


For sauce
Oil 1 Teaspoon
Garlic 2 Teaspoon , finely chopped
Onion 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , finely chopped
Sweet corn kernels 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , boiled
Capsicum 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , thinly sliced
Broccoli florets 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , blanched
Carrot 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , grated
Cornflour 1 Teaspoon
Milk 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , cold
Salt To Taste
Processed cheese 2 Tablespoon , grated
Freshly ground pepper To Taste
For pasta
Cooked whole wheat pasta 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Oil 1/2 Teaspoon
Garlic 1 Teaspoon , finely chopped
Dry red chili flakes 1/4 Teaspoon (Optional)



1. In a non stick pan, heat oil, add garlic and onion, saute for few minutes. Add in the vegetables and saute for another few minutes.

2. In a bowl, mix together cornflour and milk. Pout into the pan, add salt and cheese and mix well, cook until the sauce is little thick in consistency. Add pepper and mix.

3. In another non stick pan, heat oil, add garlic and chili flakes, saute for few seconds. Add paste and saute until heated through.

4. Re heat the prepared sauce, add pasta and lightly toss to mix.


5. Serve with garlic bread.
