For puttanesca sauce | ||
Onion | 1 , chopped | |
Garlic clove | 6 , mince | |
Crushed red pepper flakes | 1/8 Teaspoon (Optional) | |
Canned capers | 35 Ounce , drained | |
Kalamata olives | 6 Ounce , roughly chopped | |
Anchovies | 6 (1 tablespoon anchovy paste) | |
Canned diced tomato | 56 Ounce | |
Salt and pepper | To Taste | |
For pan seared tuna | ||
Tuna steaks | 6 (4 | |
Olive oil | 1 Teaspoon (as needed) |
MAKING
For Sauce:
1. In a large Dutch oven saute onion in olive oil over medium heat until softened.
2. Add garlic, red pepper, salt, black pepper, capers, olives, anchovies and tomatoes. Stir well and simmer for about 30 minutes.
For Pan Seared Tuna:
3. Season tuna steaks with olive oil and salt and pepper on both sides.
4. In a hot skillet, pan sear the tuna on both sides until done to your liking.
SERVING
5. Serve hot with sauce on top.
