90 Second Pan Seared Tuna with Puttanesca Sauce

Puttanesca sauce is a great topping for many dishes and is something easily stored in the fridge. See how you can make puttanesca sauce and really liven up this pan seared tuna meal.

Ingredients

For puttanesca sauce
Onion 1 , chopped
Garlic clove 6 , mince
Crushed red pepper flakes 1/8 Teaspoon (Optional)
Canned capers 35 Ounce , drained
Kalamata olives 6 Ounce , roughly chopped
Anchovies 6 (1 tablespoon anchovy paste)
Canned diced tomato 56 Ounce
Salt and pepper To Taste
For pan seared tuna
Tuna steaks 6 (4
Olive oil 1 Teaspoon (as needed)

Directions

MAKING

For Sauce:

1. In a large Dutch oven saute onion in olive oil over medium heat until softened.

2. Add garlic, red pepper, salt, black pepper, capers, olives, anchovies and tomatoes. Stir well and simmer for about 30 minutes.

For Pan Seared Tuna:

3. Season tuna steaks with olive oil and salt and pepper on both sides.

4. In a hot skillet, pan sear the tuna on both sides until done to your liking.

SERVING

5. Serve hot with sauce on top.
