In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make a lovely and tasty Herb Butter, using flat leaf parsley, sweet basil, and oregano. You can use it on fresh bread, or bread that is hot out of the oven, or on toasted bread. You can also spread it on French Bread, Italian Bread, and other specialty breads, and heat it in the oven. It is showy and delicious!

Butter 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , softened to room temperature
Flat leaf italian parsley 1/2 Tablespoon , mince
Sweet basil 1/2 Tablespoon , mince
Fresh oregano 1/2 Tablespoon , mince

1. In a small mixing bowl, mix softened butter with minced flat-leaf parsley, sweet basil, and oregano. Mix well.

2. In a small ramekin, transfer the herb butter, cover and chill.

3. Spread on bread, serve and enjoy!

The herbs listed above are fresh herbs. You may substitute dry herbs in place of them, but use only 1/3 as much of the dried herbs

Remove butter from the refrigerator and soften before spreading on bread.

You may spread it on a baked loaf of bread that has been cut lengthwise and place it in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. It will be crispy and gorgeous on top, but soft inside.

You may also slice your loaf of bread and toast the slices in a 375 degree (F) oven for 10 minutes, then spread individual pieces with herb butter, as desired.
