Deep-dish pizza at its most delicious!
Frozen bread dough loaf | 1 , thawed | |
Ground pork sausage | 1 Pound (Italian) | |
Shredded mozzarella cheese | 8 Ounce | |
Green pepper | 1 , diced | |
Red pepper | 1 , diced | |
Canned diced tomatoes | 28 Ounce , drained | |
Dried oregano | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
Garlic powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Grated parmesan cheese | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) |
GETTING READY
1. Preheat the oven to 400 F.
2. In a greased 13"x9" baking pan, place the frozen bread dough, and press it in the bottom and up to the sides of the dish.
3. Allow the dough to rise for 10 to15 minutes.
MAKING
4. Bake it in the oven for 10 minutes.
5. Remove the crust from oven, set aside and lower the oven temperature to 350 F.
6. In a skillet over medium heat, put the ground pork and cook it until browned. Drain the meat mixture.
7. Put the cooked meat over the baked crust and spread well.
8. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the meat.
10. In the same skillet which was used to cook the meat mixture, cook red and green pepper until slightly tender.
11. Pour in the well drained, diced tomatoes, oregano, garlic powder and salt.
12. Spoon and spread the pepper tomato mixture over mozzarella cheese.
13. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese on top.
14. Bake in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
FINALIZING
15. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
SERVING
16. Slice and serve.
TIPS
You can add mushrooms in it.
