Polenta Pie

Maize flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Leftover chicken meat/Other meat 1 Cup (16 tbs) , roughly chopped
Thick white sauce/Gravy 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Margarine 2 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
Pepper To Taste
Milk 4 Cup (64 tbs)



1) Preheat the oven to 350 °F.

2) Grease an oven dish or baking tray.

3) In a small pan, heat the white sauce or gravy.


4) In another saucepan, boil the four cups of milk with salt and pepper.

5) Stir continuously and add in the flour.

6) Simmer until the mixture becomes thick.

7) Stir in the margarine and until it is dissolved.

8) Smear the bottom and sides of the oven dish or tin with the maize dough, reserving one quarter of the dough.

9) In a bowl, combine together the meat with the sauce or gravy, salt and pepper.

10) Spoon the meat mixture over the dough in oven dish or baking tray.


11) Put the remaining maize dough, over the meat mixture pressing the edges together.

11) Bake in the oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour until the pie is nicely brown.

12) Remove from the oven and allow to cool.


13) Cut the pie into squares and serve hot with small mixed salad.
