How To Make Pesto

How to make pesto - classic basil pesto recipe and a spicy jalapeño cilantro pesto recipe.


For classic basil pesto:
Basil leaves 4 Ounce (2 cups packed leaves)
Olive oil 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Chopped pine nuts/Pecans /walnuts 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Grated parmesan cheese 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm) , minced
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Fresh lemon juice 1/2 Teaspoon , optional
For cilantro jalapeño pesto:
Packed basil leaves 2 Cup (32 tbs) (1
Jalapenos 2 , chopped, seeded for less heat
Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm) , smashed
Oil 6 Tablespoon (neutral)
Lemon juice/Lime juice 2 Tablespoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Toasted coconut flakes 2 Tablespoon (optional)



In a food processor or blender, combine all ingredients and pulse until well combined.

Adjust lemon juice and salt to taste.



Serve and enjoy!
