Fried Mozzarella Sticks

This crunchy accompaniment is cheese, cheese and cheese all the way through, so nothing can please cheese-lovers more! a simple flavoring of oregano and chili-flakes ensures that the overall effect is very pleasing. Fried mozzarella sticks can also be served as a party starter. Just keep a few things in mind when making it though the oil should be very hot and the sticks should be deep-fried over a high flame. Also, you can double-coat the sticks with the batter and the crumbs so that the cheese does not ooze out of the covering.

Ingredients

For batter
Plain flour 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Cornflour 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Salt To Taste
Dried oregano 1/2 Teaspoon
Dry red chili flakes 1/2 Teaspoon
Water 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Other ingredients
Mozzarella cheese 250 Gram
Bread crumb 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Oil 1 Cup (16 tbs) (For deep frying)

Directions

GETTING READY

For Batter:

1.In a bowl, combine flour, corn flour, salt, oregano, and chili flakes. Pour ½ cup water and mix into a thick batter. Set aside.

 

MAKING

2.Cut the mozzarella cheese into 1 cm thick 14 long sticks.

3.Dip each cheese stick into the batter so that it is evenly coated on all the sides.

4.Roll the cheese sticks in bread crumbs until evenly coated from all the sides.

5.In a skillet, heat oil and deep-fry 2 to 3 cheese sticks at a time on a high flame for approx. 30 seconds or until they turn golden brown in color from all the sides.

 

SERVING

6.Serve immediately.

 

TIPS

While deep-frying, do not turn the stick too many times as they might break and the cheese might ooze out.
