Paneer Matar Tikki / Indian Snack

Call it Paneer Matar or Matar Paneer Tikki....these delicious tikkis will melt in your mouth...


For stuffing:
Oil 2 Tablespoon
Cumin seeds 1/4 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Ginger 1 Tablespoon
Garlic 1 Tablespoon
Onion 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Salt To Taste
Green peas 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Paneer 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , grated
Amchoor powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Garam masala 1/4 Teaspoon
Red chilli powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Coriander leaves To Taste
For tikki:
Potatoes 2
Bread slices 2
Turmeric powder 1 Teaspoon
Red chilli powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Cumin powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Cornflour 2 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste



For Stuffing:

1. Place a pan over medium flame and heat oil in it, add cumin seeds and let it splutter.

2. Add the turmeric powder, onion ginger, garlic and salt and cook till onions turn soft.

3. Add the paneer and the rest of the ingredients for the stuffing, and mash it well with a pav bhaji smasher.

4. Sprinkle chopped coriander and stir well. Set aside to cool completely.

For Tikki:

5. In a big bowl combine, potatoes, bread pieces and all the spices for the tikki.

6. Mix everything well, till combined.

7. Grease hands with oil, and place tikka mixture on it and flatten it out.

8. Place about 1 tbsp of the pea mixture in the centre and roll it up and then flatten it slightly.

9. In a skillet heat some oil and fry the tikkis 2-3 at a time, until golden brown on both sides.


10. Serve hot with green chutney, onion rings and lime.
