Mutter Chaat (Low-Cal Snack)

Calorie watchers keep your hunger pangs at bay! This desi chaat combines protein and fibre rich green peas with low-fat butter and baked sev.


Oil 2 Teaspoon
Cumin seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Aniseeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Asafoetida 1/4 Teaspoon
Finely chopped green chilies 2 Teaspoon
Chopped tomato 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Water 2 Tablespoon
Boiled green peas 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Dry mango powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Chaat masala 1/2 Teaspoon
Sugar 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Lemon juice 1 Teaspoon
Finely chopped coriander 2 Tablespoon
For garnish
Baked sev 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)



1.In a non-stick pan, heat oil, add cumin and aniseeds and allow them to splutter.

2. Add asafoetida and green chili and sauté over medium flame for a few seconds. 

3. Add tomato and 2 tablespoons water and cook for 1- 2 minutes.

4. Add green peas, dry mango powder, chaat masala, sugar and salt. Stir and cook for 1 -2 minutes.

5. Stir in lemon juice and coriander. Cook for 1 minute.



6. Serve immediately garnished with baked sev.
