Quick Easy Besan Cheela or Chilla (Chickpea flour Omelette or Garbanzo bean pancakes) - Vegetarian Omelette

Salt | To Taste | |
Carom seeds | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Turmeric powder | 1 Pinch | |
Water | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (as needed) | |
Minced ginger | To Taste | |
Minced garlic | To Taste | |
Minced green chili | To Taste | |
Oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
Kale leaves | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) |
MAKING
1. In a mixing bowl, place besan, add salt , carom seeds and turmeric powder, mix together. Add water, little at a time and mix to get a smooth batter. Add ginger, garlic and green chili , mix well
2. Heat a griddle over medium heat, pour one ladle full of the prepared batter and spread in circular motion, drizzle with little oil and cook until the sides separate. Spread the chopped kale towards side and roll the chilla in thirds. Repeat to make several chillas. You can also mix the kale leaves in the batter instead of stuffing it,
SERVING
3. Serve as it is or with your choice of dipping sauce.
