Chana Dal Pancakes

Chana dal pancakes recipe, makes use of soaked chana dal mixed with vitamin rich vegetables and protein rich curds to enhance its taste. Grated ginger and green chillies add the much-needed spice to the pancakes. Cook these pancakes over a slow flame as the chana dal is coarsely ground and will take a while to cook well. Serve them piping hot to enjoy them even more.

Ingredients

Split bengal gram 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , soaked in water for 4
Chopped fenugreek leaves 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (methi)
Grated carrot 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Finely chopped spinach 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Curry leaves 6 , chopped
Finely chopped green chillies 1 Tablespoon
Grated ginger 1 Teaspoon
Curd 2 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
Oil 1 Teaspoon
Fruit salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Water 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) (as needed)
For greasing and cooking
Oil 1 Tablespoon

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Grind the soaked chana dal to a coarse batter using water, if required.

MAKING

2. In a mixing bowl, take the ground chana dal, add fenugreek leaves, carrot, spinach, curry leaves, green chili, ginger, curd, salt and oil, mix well, add water (1/4 cup), mix again. Add fruit salt and sprinkle with water (2 tablespoon), lightly mix.

3. Brush a heated griddle with oil, pour a little batter and spread to make a 4 inch circle, cook from both sides using little oil. Repeat to make several pancakes.

SERVING

4. Serve hot with chutney.
