Rajma Kebab (Low Calorie Snack)

Let us get out of the clichéd notion that tasty snacks are fat-laden. Here is a low-fat version of the famous Rajma Kebab made within minutes in your own kitchen with minimal oil. With green chillies, ginger and garam masala to impart a lip-smacking flavor, this toothsome kebab of energy-rich potatoes and protein-packed rajma is a delight to savoir.

Ingredients

Oil 1 1/2 Teaspoon
Sliced onion 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Finely chopped ginger 1 Teaspoon
Finely chopped green chili 1 1/2 Teaspoon
Soaked and boiled rajma 1 Cup (16 tbs) , lightly mashed (kidney beans)
Boiled mashed potato 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Chopped coriander 2 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
Turmeric powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Garam masala 3/4 Teaspoon
Cornflour 2 Tablespoon
For cooking kabab
Oil 1 Teaspoon

Directions

MAKING

1. In a non-stick pan, heat oil, add onion and sauté over medium flame until translucent.

2. Add ginger and green chili and sauté for another 30 seconds.

3. Stir in rajma, potato, coriander, salt, turmeric powder and garam masala. Stir constantly and cook for 2 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.

4. Add corn flour into the rajma mixture and mix well. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into oval flat kebab.

FINALIZING

5. On a non-stick griddle, cook each kebab using ⅛ teaspoon of oil until they turn golden brown from both sides.

SERVING

6. Serve hot with green chutney.
