Looking for some savory Indian style breakfast? Here is a vegetarian dish which will keep you going for the rest of the day.


Mung dal 1 Cup (16 tbs) , soaked for 3
Chopped green chili 1 Teaspoon
Chopped ginger 1/2 Inch
Garam masala 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Vegetable oil 1/2 Teaspoon
For topping
Cottage cheese 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , grated (Paneer)
Coriander leaves 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , chopped
For garnish
Tamarind chutney 1 Teaspoon



1. Soak mung dal (lentils) in water for 3-4 hours.


2. Grind the lentil into a smooth batter along with ginger and green chili.

3. Add garam masala and salt. Mix well and set aside.

For Topping:

4. In a bowl, combine cottage cheese and coriander leaves. Mix well and set aside.

5. Heat a skillet, add oil and pour a ladle full of batter on it. Spread and let cook over medium flame.

6. Add 1 teaspoon of paneer filling in the middle of the chilla and flip. Cook on the other side until done.


7. Garnish with tamarind chutney and serve hot!
