Mung dal | 1 Cup (16 tbs) , soaked for 3 | |
Chopped green chili | 1 Teaspoon | |
Chopped ginger | 1/2 Inch | |
Garam masala | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Salt | To Taste | |
Vegetable oil | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
For topping | ||
Cottage cheese | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , grated (Paneer) | |
Coriander leaves | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , chopped | |
For garnish | ||
Tamarind chutney | 1 Teaspoon |
GETTING READY
1. Soak mung dal (lentils) in water for 3-4 hours.
MAKING
2. Grind the lentil into a smooth batter along with ginger and green chili.
3. Add garam masala and salt. Mix well and set aside.
For Topping:
4. In a bowl, combine cottage cheese and coriander leaves. Mix well and set aside.
5. Heat a skillet, add oil and pour a ladle full of batter on it. Spread and let cook over medium flame.
6. Add 1 teaspoon of paneer filling in the middle of the chilla and flip. Cook on the other side until done.
SERVING
7. Garnish with tamarind chutney and serve hot!
