Tomato Garlic Chutney by Tarla Dalal

Two common ingredients, brought together with other complementary ingredients, create magic in this recipe!

Ingredients

Oil 1 Teaspoon
Finely chopped spring onion whites 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Finely chopped garlic 1 Tablespoon
Whole dry kashmiri red chilies 2 , soaked and finely chopped
Finely chopped tomato 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Salt To Taste
Tomato ketchup 1 Tablespoon
Finely chopped spring onion greens 1 Tablespoon
Finely chopped coriander 1 Tablespoon

Directions

MAKING

1. In a broad non-stick pan, heat oil, add onion and sauté over medium flame for 1-2 minutes.

2. Add garlic, saute for a few seconds and then add red chili, tomato, and a little water. Stir occasionally and cook on high flame for 10-15 minutes.

3. Add salt, tomato ketchup, and cook for 1-2 minutes. Remove pan from flame and allow the mixture to cool completely.

FINALIZING

4. Add spring onion greens and coriander. Mix well.

SERVING

5. Serve immediately.
