Traditionally, samosas are served with chutney or chole, but this one which is a personal favorite of mine, is a bit different. I have experimented serving them with a coconut kadhi and to add some crunch to the dish, i have added chopped spring onions. This chaat is a meal in itself!

The coconut kadhi uses coconut milk which is the liquid extracted with water from the coconut flesh. Coconut milk is now available in tetra packs at grocery stores, so you need not go through the effort of extracting it!

Samosa 2 (readymade or leftover)
For the kadhi
Coconut milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Bengal gram flour 1 Tablespoon
Yogurt 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) (dahi/curd)
Oil 2 Teaspoon
Cardamom 1 (elaichi)
Clove 1
Cinnamon stick 1 Inch (dalchini)
Curry leaves 4 (kadi patta)
Chopped chilies 1 1/2 Teaspoon (red chilies)
Salt To Taste
Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
For the topping
Green chutney 4 Teaspoon
Sweet chutney 4 Teaspoon
Finely chopped coriander 2 Tablespoon (dhania)

1. In a bowl, combine together besan (Bengal gram flour) and yogurt.

2. In a kadai, add oil and when hot, add cardamom, clove, and cinnamon. Sauté for a few seconds, and then add curry leaves and red chilies. Sauté for a few more seconds and add coconut milk, prepared yogurt-besan mixture and 1 cup of water. Mix properly, bring to a boil, mix in salt, and boil for a few minutes. Turn off heat.

3. Take a samosa and break it into small pieces. Place them in a bowl or a deep dish.

4. Now pour half of the prepared kadhi over the samosa pieces in the bowl, followed by spreading 2 teaspoons of green chutney and 2 teaspoons of sweet chutney. In the end sprinkle 1 tablespoon of coriander.

5. Repeat the above steps to make one more plate of samosa kadhi chaat.

6. Serve the chaat immediately
