Spinach Pakoda Chaat

A different type of chaat made with spinach leaves and topped with fresh curd, sweet chutney and masalas. Most important thing to remember about this recipe is to serve immediately.


Spinach leaves 15
Oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (For deep frying)
For batter
Gram flour 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Salt To Taste
Red chili powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Asafoetida 1 Pinch (Optional)
Water 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (as required)
For topping
Curd 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , whisked
Onion 2 Tablespoon , finely chopped
Sweet chutney 2 Teaspoon
Roasted cumin seed powder 1 Teaspoon
Chili powder 1/2 Teaspoon



1. In a mixing bowl, place gram flour, add salt, red chili powder and asafotida, pour in enough water to get a better consistency, mix well.

2. In a pan, heat oil, dip the spinach leaves in batter and deep fry.

3. In a plate, place some pakodas, drizzle generously with curd, add onion, sweet chutney. Season with cumin powder and red chili powder.


4. Serve with your choice of beverage.
