Palak Kadhi is a low-cal accompaniment to brown rice or roti with bountiful of iron and vitamin A.


Besan 2 Tablespoon (bengal gram flour)
Low fat curd 1 Cup (16 tbs) , whisked
Oil 2 Teaspoon
Cumin seeds 1 Teaspoon
Chopped onion 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Chili powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1 Pinch
Ginger green chili paste 1 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Chopped spinach 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Water 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)



1. In a deep skillet, heat oil, add cumin and allow them to splutter.

2. Add onion, fry and then stir in curd-besan mixture, chili powder, turmeric powder, and ginger-green chili paste. Cook for 1 minute.

3. Add salt, stir constantly and allow it to boil.

4. Add spinach, 1/2 cup water, stir occasionally and cook for 3-4 minutes.


5. Serve hot with steamed rice or parathas.
