Ever popular paneer tikki, made richer with dry fruit stuffing and spiced up with green chilies. A popular Punjabi starter!

Ingredients

For stuffing
Raisins 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , chopped (kismis)
Cashewnuts 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , chopped (kaju)
For tikkis
Cottage cheese 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) , crumbled (fresh paneer)
Coriander leaves 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , finely chopped (dhaniya)
Green chilies 1 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
Powdered sugar 1 Pinch
Cornflour 2 Tablespoon (for rolling)
Oil 5 Teaspoon

Directions

GETTING READY

FOR DRY FRUIT STUFFING

1. Combine together chopped raisins and cashewnuts in a bowl.

FOR THE TIKKIS

2. In a bowl or dish, place the paneer and knead it properly until smooth like dough. Then add coriander, green chilies, salt, and powdered sugar and mix properly.

3. Now, divide the paneer into ten equal parts, and form a small round shaped ball of each portion.

4. Press slightly in the center of each paneer ball in order to create a depression, and place 1.5 teaspoon of the dry fruit stuffing into each ball. Seal the edges, and shape them again in the form of round balls.

5. Roll all the balls lightly in cornflour.

MAKING

6. Now add some oil to a non-stick griddle (tava) and place a few tikkis at a time. Cook the tikkis on medium flame until golden brown from both the sides. Cook all the tikkis similarly.

SERVING

7. Serve the paneer tikkis hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
