Lapsi, a yummy dessert hardly needs any introduction! broken wheat normally takes time to cook. However, in the pressure cooker it cooks properly and swells promptly.

Ingredients

Broken wheat 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Ghee 3 Tablespoon
Chopped raisins 1 Tablespoon
Chopped cashewnuts 1 1/2 Tablespoon
Sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
For garnish
Cardamom powder 1/4 Teaspoon

Directions

MAKING

1. In a pressure cooker, heat ghee and saute broken wheat over medium flame for 5-7 minutes or until it turns light pink in color.

2. Add raisins and cashew nuts. Stir and cook for a minute.

3. Add sugar and 1½ cups of hot water. Pressure cook over high flame for 4 whistles. Turn off the flame and allow the steam to escape.

SERVING

4. Serve hot garnished with cardamom powder.
